George Romero is back like a rotting corpse…
Bloody Disgusting has the exclusive trailer up for George Romero’s new zombie film …Of The Dead. It looks extremely low budget, but not NotLD good low budget, more like Diary of the Dead low budget.
The official plot synapsis for …Of The Dead is as follows:
“On a small island off North America’s coast, the dead rise to menace the living. Yet…the islanders can’t bring themselves to exterminate their loved ones, despite the growing danger from those the once held dear. A rebel among them hunts down all the zombies he can find, only to be banished from the island for assassinating his neighbors and friends. On the mainland, bent on revenge, he encounters a small band of survivors in search of an oasis on which to build a new life. Barely surviving an attack from a mass of ravenous flesh-eaters. They commandeer a zombie-infested ferry and sail to the island. There, to their horror, they discover that the locals have chained the dead inside their homes, pretending to live ‘normal’ lives…with bloody consequences. What ensues is a desperate struggle for survival and the answer to a question never posed in Romero’s Dead films: Can the living ever live in peace with the dead?”

Simon Pegg and director Robert Weide Urge the US to not buy their new movie.
Actor Pegg and director Weide are begging people to not buy their new DVD, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. This has been seen so many times before as a reverse psychology tactic and marketing scheme, but this time it seems 100% legit.
During the making of the film certain scenes and plot points had to be removed with great stress put on Weide because he thought they were detrimental to the story. He only agreed to the removal of these materials with full knowledge of them being released on the DVD. While the UK distribution company (Paramount) is releasing the DVD with deleted scenes, commentary, gag reels ans more, the US distribution company (MGM Fox) is not releasing any of it. The reason? Fox says they couldn’t get the rights cleared and Weide and Pegg throwing up their hands said they released everything, without hesitation. Read the interview with Weide here at Collider. Way to fuck up again, Fox. You aren’t looking that great these past few months.
So please, do not buy this DVD. If you really want to, do the right thing and buy the Region 2 release so you don’t help out Fox and their corrupt asshole-selves.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s Black Jesus and New Movie
Test screenings have already been showing from Universal Studio’s new film, Bruno. People have been saying Cohen is back where he belongs with insulting and pointing out the short comings, all the while trying to make a point. His new character, “Jesus” is a “black man”, complete with thorny crown and adopted African child, David, paraded around the social elite scene.

Joker…in Batman 3?
It’s been a fear we’ve all had after watching Dark Knight. With the mass popularity the movie received, the chances of the Joker returning was high. Except for the tiny fact that the actor who made the character so powerful has died. MTV News caught up with Batman producer Charles Roven at the People’s Choice Awards and asked him about this very topic.
His response to the idea of The Joke not being able to come back in a sequel because Heath has died, “We have to separate the actors from the role.” …..(Raising my hand)…. That’s not a good sign.

Sam Raimi wants Morbius for Spider-Man 4
In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Raimi has quoted “I like it in the Marvel comics when Spider-Man fights Morbius,” said Raimi. “He’s really cool. A vampire! I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural.” Looks like Morbius will be gracing the screen in the follow up to the series’ tragic childhood slayer, Spider-Man 3.

Dexter Marries His Sister??
The uber popular show (one that I love so expect it to be canceled soon, lol) Dexter has some news. Not so much about the show itself, and NO, it’s not canceled, thank what ever god you believe in.
And usually I could give two shits about famous peoples’ personal lives. I don’t give a shit who is dating who on what movie set. But this one is a little more… peculiar. The actor who plays Dexter, Michael C Hall, and his on-screen sister Debra, Jennifer Carpenter, have gotten married.
