Brett Ratner wants to make Young Blood movie
Yeh Herd Right! Brett Ratner, the misery behind X-Men 3, Rush Hour 3, and a slew of other cinematic miscarriages, wants to take another stab at the super hero comic book world with Image Comics’s starter series, Young Blood. Variety reads more like a cinephile’s obituary page now a days….sigh.

Powers and Bendis…small screen?
Those of you into comics will surely know the outstanding run of books called Powers. If you don’t, you are missing out. The series is about the question “what if super powers and people with them actually existed in our society?” It’s a dynamite read.

Brian Bendis, creator of the book, has told MTV News that they have looked througha great many scripts for the big screen…
“When we first sold it as a feature, we were lucky to get it optioned right away by Sony,” said Bendis. “We had to sit through waves of screenplays that were just inappropriate for the product, and for fans of the book. There were whole drafts of the screenplay without Deena Pilgrim [one of the series’ two main characters] in them. They’d hand me the screenplay and go, “What’s wrong with this?” and I’d go “He has no one to talk to!”

Looks like it will be coming to Television…

“‘Powers’ is in active development as a pilot at FX,” Bendis told MTV. “I just handed in a draft to the network and we’re getting our notes from the network as soon as this thing is over. So next week I’ll get the notes, and as long as they don’t involve sock puppets and some sort of orgy scene that I’m not interested in, then hopefully it will go in the right direction. But they’re a very smart network. It seems like the right place for it to be.”
