Sam Kinison BioPic….might be really good

Published by junkfx under Uncategorized Edit This

Let’s face it, only a handful of biopics that come out are good. Most are just painfully regrettable. And c’mon… the only reason most people go to see biopics of people they never knew is because, well, “It’s based on a real story…” FUCK, I hate that reason to go see a movie.
If you want to see a movie based on a real story go see a fucking documentary… OH OH OOOOOOOOOHHHH!

Some biopics you can tell the actor really submersed themselves into the role… while others you can tell it was for the paycheck. This one… whew… this one you can tell they got someone on the fucking money.

The Sam Kinison biopic, “Brother Sam”, has Dan Fogler set up to play the title role. Here is the screen test. Tell me this isn’t Sam Kinison reincarnate.

(real) Movie News April 2, 2009

Wolverine Leaks!

We’re staring off the news today with the biggest and hardest hitting news out right now. The upcoming 20th Century Fox tent-pole film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, has been leaked online. While this is not a new thing in the film business, even dating back to VHS days, leaks have always been a part of the business. Key films are Star Wars III, Hostel 2 (whic Eli Roth blamed on the poor box office receipts his film garnished, and nothing to do with the completely shitty plot or film making aspects), Rambo, and Rob Zombie’s Halloween, and of course all the Academy Award films every season… however… this is probably one of the most detrimental to date. Why?

While the leak is an earlier work print version, missing several special effects and all of the reshoots and additional Deadpool footage, it is still a DVD quality and massively available to the exact same crowd of people who would be rushing to the theaters on May 1st. This might be detrimental to the profits of the film, however, this might be a good example of how much Hollywood would lose or not lose depending on box office performance. Before, films that leak are usually not high budget or highly coveted films. While Michael Moore’s Sicko was leaked, he quickly joined in on the leak and encouraged people to down load it and the Nines director, John August, also encouraged people to down load and “just watch” his movie, most film makersare anti downloading and this pivotal film for geeks and non geeks alike might tell if down loading is in fact bad for the profits. Like Hostel 2, no one gave a shit, but Wolverine, there is a fan base. Time will tell.

Toy Story 1 & 2 rereleased into theaters.
Coming October 2009, Disney and Pixar will be releasing a back to back double feature for a limited release of two weeks. Not much more news than that. Ayup.

Three Stooges

Sean Penn has signed on to play Larry and is currently talking voice acting lessons from Billy West (half the voices of Futurama), signings are about to happen for Jim Carrey to play Curly (in which he plans to gain 40 pounds for the role) and the studio is looking at Benicio Del Toro to play the part of Moe. The movie not a biopic, but rather an encompassing story of their filming and making of the shorts…. does this even remotely sound entertaining to those under 50?

Let the Right One In

The DVD releasing company chose to not use the subtitles from the theatrical release of the subtitles in this amazing vampire film and went with a probable in-house sub-titler and changed almost all of the dark humor and flavor of the subtext of the spoken dialogue. Magent, the company who released the film in America, says due to public outrage they will be releasing a version on DVD and BluRay that uses the theatrical translation… here’s the kicker, they are not exchanging the fucked up discs. They said the fans can rebuy them. When the new dvds are released you will have to check on the back for subtitles, one will say Subtitles (Theatrical). This is a great example of why not to buy this movie online.

Way to go, Magent. Way to put yourself on the map and fuck up your name for the future. I will be going through other avenues to get your releases.

Spider-Man 4

David Lindsay-Abaire’s script for “Spider-Man 4″ is due for delivery this Summer according to Sam Raimi in an interview. Looks like it’s a little farther off than expected, but still, it’s moving along. With rumors abound about the villians (including The Vulture, The Lizard, and Bruce Campbell and Mysterio … whom in a personal interview with Junk Film he denied) no concrete evidence has been stated. Let’s just hope it’s not Carnage yet.

Brief News…

Kevin Smith’s upcoming comedy “A Couple of Dicks” is set to begin filming at New York City’s Kaufman Astoria Studios in May 2009.

“‘Veronica Mars’ creator Rob Thomas has sadly confirmed that the big screen version of his small screen sleuth is likely not going to happen - “I don’t think the movie’s dead, right now it’s looking depressing”

“Terry Gilliam has confirmed that the final visual effects shots have just been edited into “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus” this week.

“The comic book villains Green Goblin, Carnage, Electro, Rhino, Swarm, and Lixard along with a new creation, Swiss Miss, are set to terrorise the webslinger according to a reporter who snuck into the launch of Julie Taymor’s new Broadway production “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark”. Reeve Carney is currently considered front runner for the role of Peter Parker.

“Any lingering traces from John Carpenter’s ‘Halloween’ score will not make it into Rob Zombie’s upcoming sequel reboot ‘H2′. Rob’s version is also expected to have the main characters realistically reacting to having faced a crazed serial killer - ie. they’ve all gone nuts…”

Junk’s Opinion - Transformers 2 is gonna be just like Transformers 1. Suck.

Nicolas Cage’s redemption through a good role?  No where in the future, my friends:  Nicolas Cage hopes to turn his upcoming remake of “Bad Lieutenant” could become a franchise - “It’s Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. You could have Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call London next. It could happen and that’s what makes it interesting. I’m not the same cop that Harvey [Keitel] was. I’m a different cop. I’m a New Orleans cop.”
